Welcome to the new year – as you can see, slowly but surely this site is moving away from Hitch and Doug and more towards Richard Hanrahan.com. (or more .co.uk, some other Richard Hanrahan has already taken that one) – Doug fans though need not worry, as his own website is in development (for the sale of t-shirts) so watch this space (there will be another space to watch at some point but bare with us).

What Have I been doing? Not a lot – got far too interested in Key, Basden, Wolf, Steffan and the Cowards in general, had another listen to all the fantastic Ianucci ‘Charm Offensive’ stuff (might revisit “on the hour” soon) and watched loads of nature documentaries in HD. Also, planned my new life (like Shaun of the Dead but with less zombies i.e. Shaun.).

In other news, Boing Boing blogged this video, and I don’t know what it is – perhaps the hypnotically beautiful animation, a catchy pop hook or a woman with three tits – but I love this video. Sort of one that goes on in your head only for the lyrics to not quite match up, and so ends up looping as the last line becomes the first line. Still, very good. Enjoy.

Day… well it doesn’t matter now does it. that obviously didn’t work.

Daily updates haven’t been going to plan – now I can hear millions of young children weeping desperately up and down the land. That is not because I have some bizzare government endorsed access to small children, but sarcasm. For as long as it lasted, I had about one or two ideas. For those who were listening, or indeed reading, then you’ll be pleased to know dissertation is in and, suprisingly, finished. If I had been somewhat more prepared I would have taken a photo of my smug little pig face smiling broadly with death in my eyes. Or not.

But I’m blogging now to rebuff my feed, with this little gem – a wonderful little video made by a handful of people, hand animated (I imagine, though computers these days eh? who knows!) but it is beautifully sweet, sightly magical, but brilliantly apt, understanding the magic of summer love without spoiling it. Wonderful.

Goal of the Week – Week 1 – Beans Testing

To those who don’t already listen our radio show, you won’t have noticed a few new features added to the hitch and doug show arsenal. Goal of the Week’ involves viewers (or listeners as they are known in the radio world) being given an aim for their week – and this week, they were challenged to find out conclusively – do Heinz Beans mean beans? I’ve said beans so much now in my life, i feel ill…

These are the beans we were testing:

And this was our grand reveal at the end… oh the glamour!

And of course, poor hitch and doug were FORCED to then put all the remaining beans into a big pan and eat it all in one go like the fatty bum bums they are

This is a fantastic video from the guy behind Waltz With Bashir. I still can’t understad why it didn’t win an oscar, and how it didn’t even make it into the best animation category (I mean Bolt? cMon!)

Actually I thik I can, having seen the comments underneath the video. Its so sad, I can’t believe how divided the world is just for a stupid piece of useless land.
