Day 2: Dissertation Word Count 2357

I’ll be honest I’m cheating, I’ve actually written this yesterday, but I had news to share. In the last 24 hours, I have succesfully written around 500 words, which isn’t too bad. Actually in terms of time to word ratio, 500 words in 24 hours comes out at around 20 words an hour (don’t check the maths). I’ve just exceeded that in this blog alone. Sigh.

But not to worry – yesterday wasn’t too bad. I uncovered several facts, firstly that there are now two new dragons who appear on dragons den online. Dragon’s den online I hear you say? Well, it’s dragon’s den in a comfortable half hour episode, except with rather rubbish ideas, less money and two relative unknowns. It is a waste of time – i’m not actually interested in the transactions, I’m there for the big 3. Paphitis. Bannatyne. Jones. Not bloody whats his face and who the heck are you. Similarly, Dominic Byrne presents it – Dominic Byrne! He’s a lovely man no doubt, but I’m desperate for some Davies in my business-watching. The idea is fine – but it’s not really taken the online thing, it’s just milking people’s need for business – why not put up outakes from the previous series’, the people that didn’t make it to the big screen, and in singal segments that are released once a day or so. Far more exciting, and less a drain on my already (supposedly) busy life.

Next on my surfing travels, I uncovered this little gem, an exposee on … What’s in Vending Machines

Who’d have thought there were so many bizarre items – I’d heard rumours of the used underwear before, though they have now thankfully been confirmed as more than just myth. But Ipods? Porn? Chicken Nuggets? My favourite is the combination of whisky and m’n'm’s (apostrophe heaven). What will they think of next. Well I’ll tell you – in the ann summers vending machines in Frankenstein’s (edinburgh) downstairs, they have all sorts of things – including glow-in-the-dark-tesitcles(penis and ball)-shaped-earings. In a world where every market is covered, do we really need an extra half hour of dragon’s den every week? Answer – why don’t we ask contestants to provide possible vending machine opportunites?

Wouldn’t it be good to buy travel board games in rail stations? Or essential goods that don’t require a ten minute wait in a WHSmiths cue – pencils, paper, and cards?

I also came across something which taught you how to be an early morning person, which I will try out. Coming up tommorow, a film review (from a press screening of a soon to be released blockbuster) unless the previously mentioned getting up is a failure.
Toodles for now x
